The Champions League moment that had Arsenal fans praising Mikel Arteta's Bukayo Saka decision

Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa looked to be on his way to the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old was in talks with Arsenal over a potential move either during the January window or in the summer, when he contract with PSG ends, but a move never materialised.

Juventus were also linked with the defender, but in the end he stayed at the Parc des Princes where he will see out the remainder of his contract.

It left Arsenal having to rely on Bukayo Saka as the stand-in left-back amid the injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolsinac.

Kurzawa has not been a regular pick for the French champions this season, but has still made 21 appearances in all competitions and was named in the starting lineup for the club's Champions League encounter with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Jens Lehmann explains Arsenal's 'mediocre' results

A brace from Dortmund teenager Erling Braut Haaland was enough to cancel out Neymar's 75th minute strike to give Dortmund a 2-1 advantage going into the second leg of the tie in a few weeks.

But one particular moment of the game caught fans' eyes.

Kurzawa robbed the ball from his opponent in the left-back position before going on an impressive run down the wing. However, at the end of the run his pass was less than impressive and went straight out of play yards away from any of his teammates.

Following the comedy moment, fans took to social media to give their reaction, with Arsenal fans praising Arteta's decision on Saka.

Mikel Arteta did add two defensive signings to his squad during the January window. Pablo Mari joined on loan from Flamengo while Cedric Soares arrived on loan from fellow Premier League side Southampton.

Both are still yet to make their Gunners debut. Cedric is still recovering from a knee injury while Mari played 45 minutes for the U23 team this week.

Arsenal are next in action in the Europa League knockout stage against Olympiacos on Thursday evening.
