The Challenge: Ride or Dies power rankings after ep. 4

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE CHALLENGE AHEAD!

Ready?

Season 38 of The Challenge is here: Ride or Dies, which pairs up competitors with one family member, friend or significant other as pairs try to win money. There are sure to be twists and turns that we’ll see throughout the season that might change everything.

As usual, we’ll do some power rankings each week to see who’s in the lead … and who could fall short.

In this week’s episode: We get another pair of veterans joining the show, a certain streak of losing ends and an elimination is extremely tough for one of the competitors.

1
Bananas and Nany

[Yawns]. Wake me up when they’re challenged in some way. Right now, they’ve basically got a ticket to the final.

2
Devin and Tori

Among the many people cuddling or canoodling in this ep was Tori … and her ex-fiance Jordan. Hm.

3
Jordan and Aneesa

They were fourth last week, but after being one of only two pairs to complete this episode’s challenge — Hold on For Me, in which one competitor held on to a bar 300 feet in the air on a skyscraper and then told their partner when they were ready to drop, then their partner would tackle them in mid-air and they’d try to grab a flag while swinging — I have to move them up.

4
Horacio and Olivia

Did you also spend 10 minutes shouting at your TV the following: “DON’T MAKE A DEAL TO GO INTO ELIMINATION!! HAVEN’T YOU WATCHED THIS SHOW BEFORE? YOU COULD GET DOUBLE CROSSED!”

Because Nelson and Nurys winning this week meant Nelson wanted to protect Olivia, so he concocted quite a plan: They’d throw Olivia and Horacio into the four pairs who’d be up for elimination. They would then throw in Tommy and Analyse as the team forced to compete and make deals with the other two pairs NOT to throw in Olivia and Horacio.

Luckily, these two pulled the SAFE dagger and avoided any backstabbing. But it was risky as heck.

5
Nelson and Nurys

THE STREAK IS OVER! It’s been 54 daily challenges since Nelson won one, so I’ve got to move these two up here. And they pulled off a perfect political move with the elimination. Let’s see if they can keep it up.

6
Darrell and Veronica

Woohoo! Nice to see these two on the show again, and I like the pairing — they can work really well together. It looks like Darrell is working through his fear of heights, too.

7
Kenny and Kaycee

A second straight quiet ep for them, but I’m hardly worried, as you can see.

8
Laurel and Jakk

Laurel and Horacio appear to be a thing. Intriguing!

9
Faysal and Moriah

Faysal and Colleen are also a thing! OK!

10
Jay and Michele

I think they’re a strong team communicating well. Maybe they’re underrated.

11
Chauncey and Amber

I feel like I haven’t seen much of them at all in the first few eps, so they’ll stay down here.

12
Kim and Colleen

Good job in the elimination. This one featured one partner put in a contraption on their backs. They then had to be pulled up by their partner with a rope to solve a puzzle at the top of the contraption, and Kim held up Colleen seemingly with ease as she solved it.

That said, they’re an easy target to throw into elimination as rookies. Barring any huge changes or maybe Faysal winning a weekly challenge, they might be right back here next week.

13
Tommy and Analyse (eliminated)

They made their bed last week with a rough double-cross in elimination. Now? They were chosen to go in, and Tommy had trouble pulling Analyse up to solve the puzzle. An easy win for Kim and Colleen, and these rookies are out.
