The Celtic Whiskey Shop launches new whiskey of its own

Whiskey lovers will be very familiar with The Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson Street – a treasure trove of great whiskeys and other spirits from around the world.

In recent years they have branched out into producing exclusive whiskeys of their own, and that process continues with the launch of the first batch of The Celt, known as An Chead Bhlás (First Taste). A single malt finished in sherry casks, it was bottled at 46% ABV and retails at €75.00.

Celtic Whiskey have been purchasing casks of whiskey from a range of different Irish distilleries over the past decade. They have also been buying wine casks from the various wineries that they import from, and using them to mature the whiskeys they have bought.

Founder and Managing Director of the Celtic Whiskey brand, Ally Alpine, said: “Our goal with The Celt is to release what we consider are excellent, tasty whiskeys at affordable prices.

“Unusually for Celtic Whiskey, we are limiting the product info on the whiskey as we aren’t looking for comparisons with the distilleries that distilled them.

“We would like them to be enjoyed & shared for their quality rather than having any collectible value’.”

As the Whiskey Live Dublin 2020 event was cancelled due to Covid-19, €5 from each bottle of The Celt sold will be donated to the event’s charity partner Down Syndrome Dublin.

An Chead Bhlás from The Celt Irish Whiskey is on sale now, exclusively through their shop on Dawson Street and online at www.celticwhiskeyshop.com.
