The Cavern announces plans to reopen its pub, restaurant and shop after 19 weeks

Liverpool's The Cavern Pub and Festival Restaurant is reopening on Saturday, 19 weeks after it shut its doors due to the coronavirus crisis.

The news was confirmed by Cavern City Tours who will also be reopening The Cavern's online shop again too. All three businesses will reopen on August 1.

Like many other venues across Liverpool, the pub and restaurant will be making changes to the way it operates to ensure all staff and customers are kept safe.

The Cavern Pub and Festival restaurant will initially open Friday to Sunday, although there are plans to increase opening hours in the future.

While the city's iconic Cavern Club and popular Beatles sight-seeing Magical Mystery Tour remain closed, work is taking place to enable reopening both very soon and further announcements will be made with details.

Bill Heckle, Cavern director, says “We are looking forward to welcoming customers back to some of our venues.

"Things look a little different in the world at the moment but we’re confident that The Cavern venues that are reopening will still provide the great atmosphere that they are renown for, even with social distancing measures in place.”
