As reported by football.london , Premier League clubs take an equal share of £80.4million at the end of each season. Clubs also earn television money, with those who host over 10 live games earning an extra £12.3million (plus £1.1million for each game over that amount).

The rest of the money earned over the season depends on the finishing position of the club. Every placing is worth an extra £1.9million at the season's end.
If Arsenal were to have a successful end to the season and bridge the four point gap to North London rivals Tottenham to finish in 3rd place, it would earn them an extra £34.2million.
However, if were they to have a poor run and finish in sixth position, the prize money would drop to £28.5million. Meaning a difference between third and sixth equating to £5.7million in prize money at the end of the season.
If the Gunners maintain their current position of just outside of the Champions League places in fifth, the money they receive would be £30.4million.
Add on the fact that achieving Champions League football for next season is also very financially lucrative for clubs, Arsenal will have more than one reason to aim for fourth or even third at the end of the 2018/19 season.

The extra £5.7million earned by finishing in third place could just give the club the extra budget needed to attract their top target at the end of the season.
