The Cardiff Devils at 35: A look back to the ice rink where it all began

2021 marks the year that the Cardiff Devils celebrate their 35th year as a team.

They formed in 1986 after the construction of the now-demolished Ice Rink, in the city centre.

The Devils’ first home game at their city rink was on November 30, 1986, where a crowd of 2,500 saw them beat the Ashfield Islanders 32-0.

Unfortunately, the Wales National Ice Rink was demolished in 2006, to make way for John Lewis.

The Devils have won countless championships and awards and continue to play at their new home in Cardiff Bay at the Ice Arena Wales.
