The Cardiff City player ratings as youngster impresses but cutting edge sorely lacking at Nottingham Forest

Dillon Phillips 6

Could do nothing for the goal. The debutant looked assured enough collecting the handful of other shots that came his way. Stopped a well-struck effort from Alex Mighten in the second half.

Leandro Bacuna 6

A little mix-up with Vaulks for Forest's opener, but looked dangerous and bright on occasion when in attack. Caught out of position a couple of times but you expect that.

Curtis Nelson 6

Some will say he should have tracked Lyle Taylor for the early goal, but that might be harsh. Did well for the most part, it must be said.

Joe Bennett 6

An unfamiliar position for him and the biggest compliment you can pay him is that he did nothing particularly noteworthy. Stuck to his task and was quietly composed throughout. Had little to do.

Joel Bagan 7 (star man)

Did the simple things brilliantly. No frills, picked the easy pass and made a few intelligent runs. Joe Lolley had no joy down his flank, really. Came out of his shell in an attacking sense second half. Can hold his head up high.

Marlon Pack 6

Played a couple of really eye-catching passes to set City on a few attacks. Was hooked in the second half when Cardiff were trying to find the equaliser.

Will Vaulks 6

That mix-up with Bacuna aside, another solid performance in the middle of the park. Didn't do a great deal wrong, really.

Joe Ralls 6

Wanted to get involved every time Cardiff launched an attack and looked to drive the midfield up the pitch. A few too many poor shots from range from the midfielder, though.

Harry Wilson 6

Ran for every lost cause and looked one of the more likely candidates to score for the visitors. Just couldn't come up with the goods when it mattered.

Josh Murphy 6

Looked better as the game opened up. Had one lovely run where he beat Jenkinson and fired in a low cross. Had a couple of bright moments but just couldn't find that end product.

Robert Glatzel 5

Got knocked off the ball once or twice but looked to link up with play whenever he could and picked up some good positions. But really needs to keep the ball more and was not in situ after some nice crosses were played.

Subs

Junior Hoilett (on for Vaulks 63) 6 - Actually looked sharp when he came on. Had a couple of big chances which he couldn't convert.

Sheyi Ojo (on for Murphy 78) NA - Didn't really have much of an impact.

Mark Harris (on for Pack 84) NA - Same as above.
