The Cardiff City player ratings at Blackburn as defensive leader wins man of the match but forwards struggle

The Cardiff City player ratings after they drew 0-0 at Blackburn...

Alex Smithies 7

Appears to be growing with confidence every game. He was vocal and commanded his box far better and was equal to everything that was thrown at him, albeit it wasn't much.

Lee Peltier 6

Quiet for large parts of the game and Blackburn did have some joy down his side. Harsh to attribute any blame to him for their chances, however.

Sean Morrison 7.5 (Star man)

A real captain's display at the back. Was tested early with a ball behind but was up to the task. Made an immense block to deny Danny Graham in the first half.

Aden Flint 6.5

Another steady performance from the centre back, just how he would like it in many ways. Untroubled for most of the afternoon.

Joe Bennett 5.5

Looked somewhat vulnerable in defence yet again and wasn't as involved in attack as he usually is. A quiet afternoon for him.

Joe Ralls 6.5

Such a classy operator in midfield. Yes, he didn't deliver any superstar passes, but that midfield would be lost without his fleetness of foot and and footballing intelligence.

Leandro Bacuna 6.5

Rattled the post with an early shot and made a few key challenges to disrupt in midfield. Made a key, diving intervention in his own box to deny a clear-cut chance for Rovers, too.

Lee Tomlin 6

He created a lovely opportunity for Bacuna and had a nice effort of his own cleverly saved, but failed to impart his genius as much as he did against Huddersfield.

Josh Murphy 5.5

Incredibly frustrating afternoon for him, just wasn't his kind of game. Had no space or time to inflict the damage of which he is capable.

Gavin Whyte 5

Anonymous in attack, the Bluebirds lacked real quality on the ball down his flank. As always, provided industry and work-rate.

Robert Glatzel 5.5

Really struggled to get into the game. Fed off scraps and failed to trouble the keeper with any shots of his own, but his link-up play continues to impress, though.

Subs :

Junior Hoilett (on for Tomlin 56) 7

Impressive once again from the bench, had two golden opportunities to score but couldn't take either. Provided a beautiful cross which Flint headed over the bar, too.

Omar Bogle (on for Glatzel 60) 5

Had little impact on the game when he came on. Booked for a challenge on Bradley Johnson.
