The Cardiff City end of season award winners as player of year revealed

Neil Etheridge and Victor Camarasa were the big winners at Cardiff City's end of season awards on Sunday night.

Goalkeeper Etheridge, who enjoyed an impressive season despite Cardiff's relegation, won the official Player of the Year ward, as voted for by fans.

Camarasa, who was on loan from Real Betis, scooped the players' player of the season gong. He also won the goal of the season award for his late wonder strike against Leicester City.

The Spaniard will now return to Betis this summer and is highly unlikely to play for the Bluebirds again.

Fellow midfielder Aron Gunnarsson, who leaves the club this summer after eight years, was honoured with an Outstanding Contribution Award.

In an emotional message to Cardiff fans, Gunnarsson said he would "be a Bluebird forever".

The club's Academy Player of the Year player went to goalkeeper George Ratcliffe.

The City Hall ceremony was held 24 hours after Cardiff's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed. It remains unclear if manager Neil Warnock will remain at the club, despite players including Sol Bamba being desperate for him to stay.
