Any minute now I'm going to remember when and where during the election campaign someone decided that there would be a competition to design a tap water carafe to help wean Londoners off the bottled stuff. Any minute, I tell you. Any minute...arghh!
Anyway, there's been a competition and someone has emerged victorious. Via mad.co.uk I learn from Design Week that the winning creation is by Neil Barron, it's called Tap Top, it comes in green or black and fits in the door of a standard fridge. It's a fine-looking thing and the five grand Barron won for his efforts was handed over by Green Boris at City Hall. The carafe will be available to London's catering traders from next spring.
