Two words best encapsulate the Canberra Capitals fan base - loud and loyal.
It's this noise and this loyalty that spurs the team to call their fans, collectively, the sixth players on the court.
But perhaps the most passionate Canberra Capitals fans are the young girls, who hope to one day follow in their footsteps.
Sisters Eloise, 10, and Madeleine Richardt, 8 and Ava Osborne, 8, all play basketball for Radford and were at the game two grand final on Wednesday night to witness the Capitals claim back-to-back WNBL titles.
Pre-game, each of the three could not containment their excitement and they all said one day they would want to play for the Canberra Capitals.
Speaking ahead of International Women's Day, Canberra Capitals manager Lucille Bailie said the team was an inspiration to not only young girls but everyone.
"I couldn't think of any better role models on a day like International Women's Day as we celebrate great women, they are role models for young boys, young girls - for men for women for the whole community," she said.
"These athletes who happen to be women, it's probably the thing I am most proud of is the work they put on in the court but what this represents to the general community, they are strong assertive communicators, they have shown us all season how they handle adversity."
In what is welcome news to women's sport, Ms Bailie said the support of the Canberra Capitals this year had grown.
"We measure the support and we have had increased crowd attendances, increased sponsorship, increased patronage to all our games, it's measurable, it's tangible, you can feel it here in the stadium," she said.
"There are measurable increases in all the key business areas, which tells us what we're doing is a solid sports program and that underpins what we deliver each week and what the team is able to deliver."
It was great to see the wider Canberra community embrace the team this year, Ms Bailie said who pointed to landmarks across the territory lit up in the deep blue colour of the team.
"Canberra has always been lucky, and it has always had success through the Capitals team," she said.
"These are elite athletes, delivering an elite version of sport right here in our own backyard."
