Tina is a triplet. Tiny, teeny Tina. Born with a serious illness, Tina will always be smaller than her sisters, Phil and Maddie. For years now Tina has been protected by her two sisters and her family. This year they’re starting Year 3 which means only one thing: Miss Lovejoy.
She may sound sweet, but actually, she’s the meanest of all the teachers. It’s clear from day one that Tina will not be with her sisters, as usual. And anything that Mum, Phil, Maddie or even Tina do won’t change that. Instead of being with her sisters, Tina is with Selma. Selma is a famous bully with no friends but lots of nasty comebacks. Poor Tina doesn’t stand a chance!
However, Miss Lovejoy has a special surprise that should bring together enemies and resolve arguments. Tina is surprising herself with new talents and an interest in butterflies. Miss Lovejoy’s task is one which should make Tina’s new passion useful. However, it requires teamwork, money, dedication and independence. Can Tina learn to cope without her sisters?
Once again, Jacqueline Wilson’s 102nd book is definitely one to read. I thought it would be a lot shorter, as the main character is very young, but I was surprised and happy to find it just as long as Lily Alone. Many authors have written about twins and triplets and they don’t get it right, but Jacqueline Wilson has!
