The bus timetable changes coming to Swansea Bay you need to know about

A raft of new changes to bus services have been announced in Swansea , Neath Port Talbot and Llanelli in a shake-up of timetables coming into effect in a month's time.

First has revealed the changes which will come into force from June 16, including an early hours service to Swansea's hospitals being scrapped.

Here's a guide to what you need to be aware of...

The 4/4A Morriston Hospital to Singleton Hospital service, via the city centre, will be withdrawn.

The provider said this was due to "little use", and departures after midnight and before 6am would be withdrawn.

You will no longer be able to catch the 4/4A bus to Morriston Hospital after midnight and before 6am (South Wales Hospital)

The 6 Swansea City Bus Station to Port Tennant service will now run every half hour instead of every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday.

One journey will run via SA1 and another via St Thomas, Monday to Friday.

Service 11 , from Swansea City bus station to Mayhill, has had its timetable revised to depart 10 minutes later throughout the day.

And service 14 , which travels from Swansea City bus station to Pennard Cliffs, will see its timetable revised to operate hourly from Monday to Saturday, via the full route, including Bishopston , travelling in both directions.

Services 27 and 28 , running from the city centre bus station to Penlan and Penplas have also been revised.

Service 27 has now been withdrawn, and service 28 will operate every 20 minutes.

The move is to "improve the reliability and give Penplas an improved service."

Bus fares are going up in Swansea and this is how you will be affected

The 4.35pm afternoon journey on service 961 , from Gower College to Llansamlet is to be withdrawn due to lack of use.

Elsewhere, in Llanelli, the L4 service from Llanelli to Pontarddulais is to be withdrawn, and some journeys on service L3 will be retimed.

And in Neath Port Talbot, the X8 running from Swansea city bus station to Banwen via Neath will be revised to include an extension to Coelbren on five journeys per day. There will also be increased running time added between Neath and Banwen to "improve reliability".
