The Burnie appoint new coach!

Blackburn United Football Club were delighted to announce the appointment of a new youth development officer at the club this week.

Martin Strachan is currently the 2009s head coach and in addition to his many responsibilities, he will now oversee the development and progression of all Blackburn United’s youth players — from the club’s Soccer School through to the 7-a-side and 11-a-side squads.

Those involved with the club’s youth squads in any capacity will receive an invitation in the coming weeks to discuss the appointment and also the club’s vision for the future.

Blackburn president, Ian McGinty said: “Martin has exactly the right attributes to help the club build on our success and engage further with the community”.

Blackburn United's senior side play at home this week at the Purdie Worldwide Community Stadium against St Cuthbert Wanderers in the S.F.A South Region Challenge Cup. Kick off is 2.30pm and entry is £6 and £3 for concessions.
