The budget Swansea hostel where 12 can sleep in a room in box bunks lining the walls

If you don't mind sharing - there's a new budget option for a Swansea stay and it's right in the heart of the city centre.

Cwtsh Hostel has opened overlooking Castle Square and is the newest stop-off spot for visitors to the city.

Its owners have said it's already off to a great start, with people staying from far and wide and plenty of bookings lined up.

A combination of pod and private accommodation, it is made up of nine rooms in total - four of which are private with double beds, five dorm rooms, three 12-bed and one four-bed, and the last dorm will become a ten-bed.

Managing director, Llyr Roberts said: "The opening night was really busy, we had some rugby fans, some students from Bath coming for a weekend, an American couple and a mix of people.

"The bookings are looking pretty good, the Christmas period looks busy. It's been an incredible amount of hard work and stress so to see it actually open and starting to take bookings is great."

How much does it cost to stay there?

A single pod bed costs £20 a night, it's £25 a night for the four bed dorm. The private rooms will start at £50 a night. Mr Roberts has previously described how the venture hopes to capture the budget end of the market.
