The BTS Army totally got into Coronation Street while waiting for Britain's Got Talent

Coronation Street welcomed BTS fans to Weatherfield on Thursday night as they tuned in ahead of their favourite band’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.

And although it was clear that many of the BTS Army had never seen the ITV soap before, they totally got into the storylines while waiting for the group’s performance of Boy With Luv on the competition’s results show.

The band's mega fanbase took to Twitter to engage in an unexpected Corrie tweet-a-thon - and the soap’s official account welcomed them to the Cobbles.

They said: “Welcome to all the #BTSARMY who seem to be joining us for a watch of Coronation Street tonight - lovely to see you all!”

Corrie bosses also invited the band to go on the tour of the studio - much to the delight of Greater Manchester-based fans.

One responded with a laughing face and the message: “We are very confused to be honest.”

A second said: “Thanks for the welcome! was kinda confused but am also now invested in these characters bc that was dramatic.”

Another commented: “lmao we were really invested in the story while we waited.”

Carla Connor's psychotic episode in Coronation Street (ITV)

The half-hour episode saw the fall-out of David’s confession to Audrey that he and Nick stole her money, the disturbing progression of Carla’s illness, a battered Gary warning Sarah about loan shark thug Rick, and the Metcalfes’ horse Heracles destroying their garden.

One said: “Well it took time to realize what was happening but well the cute horse was worthy. Good show btw!?”

A second said: “I hope Carla will be fine. She was brilliant.”

A third added: “Yess, and I watched the livestream along with 52k people. I can't believe it.”

Speaking of when Nick tried to throw David under the bus for his scheme, another posted: “I hope he didn’t take the deal. That guy can not be trusted!”

Many fans asked after the horse’s welfare, with one messaging: “I hope that horse is okay.”

Another said: “I was confused the whole time but i hope the horse is okay.”
