The brutal Eden Hazard lesson that could have cost Andy Robertson his £8m Liverpool transfer

Liverpool star Andy Robertson has revealed how former Chelsea star Eden Hazard left him questioning his Premier League credentials.

During his time at Hull City, Robertson endured a torrid afternoon against the electric Hazard in a 2-0 defeat to the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

And speaking That Peter Crouch Podcast, he revealed how he was left questioning whether he could recover from being left chasing the Belgian's shadow.

"When I was at Hull I played against Hazard when he won the player of the year, and he ripped me apart at Stamford Bridge," he said.

"It's a game I never thought I'd recover from but luckily I did."

Luckily for Liverpool that Robertson recovered from the harsh Hazard lesson as he may not have made the £8m move to Anfield in the summer of 2017 had he not shaken that memory off

Robertson - who has been largely excellent this season - also admits to having nightmares after a battle with Wolves' Adama Traore this season.

"Traore this season ripped me apart, to be fair," he added.

"I think he could give most Premier League defenders a 15 yard start and he would win the race.

"Big Virg and him had a great race, to be fair. Big Virg has just got his big long legs."
