The Browns officially bring back four free agents

The Browns got busy on the first day of the offseason program. In addition to waiving three players, the team officially announced they have signed four free agents who were previously with the team.

Cleveland got ink on paper with WR Rashard Higgins, DT Trevon Coley, safety Jermaine Whitehead and CB Juston Burris. All were with the team in 2018 and reports of agreements with all but Burris have been previously and widely acknowledged. Both Higgins and Coley have been starters for the team.

Higgins and Coley were restricted free agents given tender offers by the Browns. Whitehead was an exclusive rights free agent and the Browns also previously extended the requisite offer to keep him in Cleveland.

Burris was an unrestricted free agent who appeared in four games for the Browns last year after being signed off the Jets’ practice squad. The 2016 fourth-round pick out of North Carolina State will compete at outside CB.
