The Broncos had an amazing cover in the Hall of Fame Game

The Hall of Fame Game was not good football. Actually, its never good football. It’s too early in camp. No starters ever play. It’s some super blurry facsimile of NFL football. It’s just close enough, but it’s not quite there. That doesn’t mean people stayed away from the game when it comes to betting on it. It’s football, and the gambling public will bet on anything when it comes to football. People were betting on the AAF to satisfy an urge — and the AAF was focused on building its game around sports wagering. What’s the point? People bet on this game, and if you took the Falcons, you are angry. If you took Broncos you got a miracle cover.

The Broncos were down 10-7 in the fourth quarter. For the folks out there who don’t gamble, that would not cover the -2.5 point spread on the Broncos end. Anyone who took the favorite would lose outright.

The Broncos needed a miracle and then all those things happened in a row to help them win the game by four points. The cover for the Broncos was never in doubt.

That’s why wagering on the NFL is so frustrating and exhilarating at the same time. The Broncos were completely out of it and then came back and won. Usually when you’re cheering for an interception and a miracle comeback the bet is already dead. In this case, the Broncos pulled it out.
