The new John Lewis Christmas advert takes viewers on a magical festive journey in a snowy British woodland.
In the ad, a young boy — Nathan — introduces his space traveller friend — Skye — to the classic Christmas traditions.
They decorate a tree together, play in the snow and enjoy Christmas lights.
The story ends on a bittersweet, heart-warming note with Skye returning home, leaving twinkling stars and a Christmas tree in the distance.

To celebrate the launch of the ad, the store has also introduced two Snapchat lenses; the first being a selfie lens which lets you become a space-traveller like Skye and the second which lets users play with Skye’s spaceship in their own world.
