The Brit awards at 30 - The best and worst performances

Brit Awards 30: 2000: Geri Halliwell Brit Awards
2000: Geri Halliwell performs Bag It Up. It is astonishing that this woman ever had a musical career, let alone one that would let organisers deem her worthy of a performance slot. Thumbs down

Brit Awards 30: 2003: Justin Timberlake and Kylie Minogue Brit Awards
2003: Justin Timberlake performs a medley of his own hits before being joined by the delightful Kylie Minogue for a cover version of Blondie's Rapture. JT actually beatboxed halfway through but we'll put that to one side and give this a thumbs up

Brit Awards 30: 2002: Ali G and Shaggy Brit Awards
2002: Ali G and Shaggy perform Booyakasha. This is clearly a thumbs down

Brit Awards 30: 2008: Rihanna performs on stage with the Klaxons Brit Awards
2008: Rihanna performs with the Klaxons for a special version of Umbrella. Reaction was mixed, but we're opting for a thumbs up for lazerability alone

Brit Awards 30: 2009: Girls Aloud The Brit Awards
2009: Girls Aloud's The Promise was unexpectedly good, especially when compared with U2's monstrosity that was Get On Your Boots. Thumbs aloft

Brit Awards 30: 2009: The Pet Shop Boys with Brandon Flowers and Lady GaGa Brit Awards
2009: Just when you think they can't get any more kitsch, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of Pet Shop Boys perform with Brandon Flowers and Lady Gaga for a good old medley. Thumbs up

Cancer Research UK: Destiny's Child
2001: Gold! Destiny's Child bring flames and a touch of glamour to proceedings with their performance of Independent Women. Thumbs up

Cancer Research UK: Abba Tribute
Billie (far left) and Tina Cousins (far right) join the B*Witched, Steps and Cleopatra (front, seated) to perform an Abba medley. We can only apologise to those of you who had wiped this from your memory. Thumbs most definitely down
