The Bristol areas with alarmingly low vaccine rates as restrictions are ramped up

'Plan B' covid restrictions are going to be bought into action as the omicron variant spreads quickly among communities.

Prime Minster Boris Johnson has said that we can't assume the new variant is less severe than previous ones and has reintroduced a range of measures to protect public health.

The announcement comes as the lastest figures show that 88.8 per cent of people aged 12 or over in the UK have now had their first dose of the vaccine, while 80.9 per cent have had two jabs. But vaccine uptake has remained an issue in many areas.
