The brilliant way Nottingham Forest fans can help club raise money for NHS amid coronavirus pandemic

Nottingham Forest have launched a special t-shirt to support the National Health Service (NHS).

The Reds' season is currently suspended because of coronavirus, with the 2019-20 campaign to resume when it is safe to do so.

Covid-19 has claimed 12,107 lives in the United Kingdom, infecting 93,873 people.

Forest have donated hygiene gloves to the NHS trust in Nottingham and are now giving fans the chance to show their appreciation for the health service by getting their hands on a new t-shirt which is raising money for NHS Heroes movement.

All proceeds from the new t-shirt are going towards the appeal and can be bought here.

#NottinghamNHSHeroes is an appeal raising funds to deliver support to those fighting on the frontline against coronavirus in the City at both the Queen's Medical Centre and City hospital.

So far £58,000 of its £100,000 target has been raised with funds already being used to buy essentials kits, treats, energy snacks and refreshments for NHS staff.

Two new 'Wellbeing Centres' have also been set up to offer a place for staff at both the City Hospital and QMC to rest on shift.

Further areas where funds can be deployed will be identified in due course.

“We cannot thank Nottingham Forest enough for their support for our appeal," Nottingham Hospitals Charity chief executive Barbara Cathcart said.

"We have been very moved by the club’s offer to help the NHS in whatever way they can and think it is fantastic that Forest’s fans across the city will soon be walking around with football shirts supporting their local NHS!”
