The brilliant response from Canada player as he tells 'best in the world' All Blacks to 'give him a break'

It must be pretty hard facing the All Blacks sometimes.

Especially when they're running in unanswered tries at a rate of knots.

That was the scenario for Canada on Wednesday as they went down 63-0 to New Zealand in their Pool B clash at the Rugby World Cup.

And it all got too much to bear for hooker Eric Howard at one point - leading to this brilliant line picked up by the television cameras.

After a New Zealand attack had been snuffed out into touch, All Blacks scrum-half TJ Perenara was still in the referee's ear and Howard wasn't having it.

"Come on, you're the best team in the world. Give me a break," Howard said to Perenara.

"You've still got to play fair," replied Perenara.

The moment, which was picked up by broadcast cameras, can be viewed on the New Zealand Herald's website .

Perenara led the All Blacks in the haka beforehand - the first since a spate of criticism over the pre-match war dance.

And the criticism continued after the match as well - with Match of the Day host Gary Lineker drawing widespread backlash after querying how opposition players don't laugh during the tradition.
