The brilliant reason why Nottingham Forest ace has hailed Sabri Lamouchi 'a genius'

Nottingham Forest ace Matty Cash has given an insight into the impact Sabri Lamouchi has made at the City Ground.

And defender Michael Dawson has joked the Frenchman is “a genius because he’s made Cashy into the new Cafu”!

Lamouchi was appointed Reds boss last June and has overseen a promotion charge in his first full season in English football.

Under his tutelage, Cash has blossomed into one of the best right-backs in the Championship, having been converted from his more natural midfield position.

And the 22-year-old says he owes a lot to his manager.

“His meetings are fantastic. The way he says stuff,” Cash told Sky Sports.

“The meetings before games get you right up for it.

“His coaching on the training field is brilliant as well.

“He’s been brilliant with me, working on my defensive work. He is really hard on me, which I like because he keeps you going.

“He has been fantastic.

“His coaching staff are as well. He’s brought in some really good coaches and good people around the club who we all warm to.”

Football is currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, with Forest sat fifth in the table, with nine games remaining.

“When we win a game, he is always about the next game,” Cash added of Lamouchi.

“When we lose, we obviously need to bounce back and he does some good speeches to get us back up for it.

“But when we win, he keeps us on a level head, which is good.”

And centre-back Dawson chimed in: “I just want to say he’s a genius because he’s made Cashy into the new Cafu!

“He is an absolute genius!

“When he walked through the door, the things he did for him!”
