You can't guarantee much these days, but if it all comes off, 2022 could be a bumper year for entertainment in Swansea.
Many of the events we were hopeful of going to in Swansea in 2021 had to be cancelled due to Covid.
But now 2022 is upon us and there is plenty scheduled for the year ahead that, everything crossed now, you will be able to attend.

Thanks to the brand new Swansea Arena, which is due to throw open its doors early this year, there are lots of exciting events heading to the city, within the new venue and without.
We've pulled together a list of some of the highlights for your new 2022 diary. And you can read more about the big gigs coming to Wales here. We will keep adding to this list as more things are announced...
Music
Gerry Cinnamon
Gerry Cinnamon has announced a huge outdoor show in Swansea's Singleton Park in 2022.
The Swansea gig on Saturday, June 4, is set to be Cinnamon's biggest ever Welsh performance to date taking place over the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend. The Cardiff Castle show has been rescheduled for the second time due to Covid and will now happen on Sunday, June 5.
Nile Rodgers & CHIC
Nile Rodgers & CHIC will be performing at Singleton Park this summer.
The American funk, soul and disco group from New York City will be coming to the city on Friday, July 29 .
Imelda May
Irish singer, songwriter Imelda May will be performing at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, on Wednesday April 20.
Alice Cooper + The Cult
Rock n Roll legend Alice Cooper returns to the UK alongside Rock Icons The Cult and will be performing in Swansea's brand new arena which is due to open its doors early in 2022, hosting music, comedy, theatre and conferences.
Alice Cooper + The Cult will be performing on Monday, May 23.
Royal Blood
Rock duo, Royal Blood will be performing at Swansea arena on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
They will become the first act to play as part of Swansea Arena’s launch season, a special event ahead of their biggest European tour to date.
Will Young
Singer-songwriter Will Young is coming to Swansea this autumn, performing classic tracks from his 20-year career.
The Pop Idol legend is set to perform in Swansea Arena on November 10, 2022.
Paul Weller
Paul Weller will be performing a huge outdoor show in Swansea's Singleton Park in 2022.
The Modfather will return to Wales on Sunday, July 31, for a massive outdoor show to support the release of his new album.

Jersey Boys
Award-winning West End musical, Jersey Boys, will be hitting the stage in Swansea this year.
Jersey Boys, will be running from Tuesday, November 29 , until Saturday, December 3 at Swansea Arena.
Johannes Radebe - Freedom
TV dancing sensation and international champion Johannes Radebe, will be bringing his debut tour to Swansea Arena this spring on Thursday, March 24 .
Johannes will take you on his journey from growing up in South Africa, to travelling the world, winning competitions and starring in Strictly’s most memorable numbers.
Diversity - Connected 2022
Winners of of Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, dance group Diversity, are heading to Swansea this summer to showcase their new show, Connected, which centres around the world of social media, the internet, and the digital era we now live in, but more importantly how this connects us all.
They will be performing at Swansea Arena on Tuesday, June 7 .
The Official RuPaul's Drag Race UK Series Three Tour
All 12 queens from Series Three of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will step foot in Swansea next September.
The tour includes Series Three finalists Kitty Scott-Claus, Krystal Versace, Vanity Milan and Ella Vaday and they will be slaying the stage at Swansea Arena on Friday, September 23.
Oti Mabuse - I Am Here
Strictly Come Dancing and The Greatest Dancer champion Oti Mabuse is creating a show like no other in Swansea this summer.
Oti will be joined by some of the world’s greatest dancers and the West End’s finest singers and musicians on Friday, June 24, at Swansea Arena.

Comedian John Bishop will be bringing his brand new world tour to Swansea Arena in Spring this year.
John will be preforming his Right Here, Right Now tour on Tuesday, March 15 .
Runs
Ironman 70.3 Swansea
A brand new Ironman triathlon event is coming to Swansea in 2022, it has been confirmed.
The event - made up of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run - will take place on Sunday, August 7 and offer competitors a picturesque course which will boast views across one of the most scenic parts of Wales, including Swansea Bay, Mumbles and the Gower Peninsula.
Swansea Half Marathon
The Swansea Half Marathon took place last October after being postponed a number of times.
The half marathon will now be coming back on Sunday, June 12.
Admiral Swansea Bay 10K
Swansea Council is planning for this year’s event to take place on Sunday, September 18. An early bird entry offer runs until January 31.
Last year’s event marked the 40 th edition of this highly popular race that always offers a flat, scenic coastal course.

Beaujolais Day 2022
Beaujolais Day is a day of festivities marking the first wine of the season in France and has continued to be a sensation in Swansea. This year the event will be taking place on Thursday, November 17 .
