The brilliant answer Welsh family gives on Family Fortunes

A cheeky Family Fortunes contestant got into hot water with his girlfriend's parents after giving a risque answer on the quiz show.

Stephen Lewis, from Merthyr Tydfil, was appearing on the hit ITV show which has recently returned to screens with celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo now presenting. The show is well known for its innuendos with a long list of contestants giving answers that would make the audience blush.

And Stephen's quick answer was just as good.

In the latest episode, airing on Sunday night, Stephen is involved in a head to head round with an opposing contestant when they were asked by Gino to "name something you turn on every day".

Without missing a beat, Stephen pushes the buzzer and says "my girlfriend", a response that drew laughter and a round of applause from the audience. Unfortunately for Stephen, the answer was not up on the board so he did not secure any points for his team.

Following the answer, Gino quipped "Lucky her" before Stephen responded "Sorry to Beca's parents".

Let's hope Beca and her parents see the funny side!

It's not the first time a member of the Lewis family has become well-known for their comedy gold. Stephen's mum Melanie Lewis, who also appeared on the show, went viral after posting videos of her mum and dad during lockdown.

In a two minute clip, which has been liked and shared over 10,000 times, NHS clerical worker Melanie pops round to her elderly parents' house in Pen-y-Darren to post the daily newspaper and drop off a few groceries as they're both stuck indoors self-isolating.

"I got you evaporated milk, but couldn't get any corned beef," Melanie shouts through the glass to her mum Frances, who then pays her for the paper by sticking a shoehorn with a pound coin on it though the letter box.

"Put the milk on top of the bin and step away," Frances yells back, while dad Bill waves through the window blinds and gives a thumbs up gesture.

Melanie having backed off, Frances then steps out to collect her delivery with a scarf wrapped around her face.

"I've been out the back talking to the cowing birds," says the 74-year-old.

"Why don't you talk to Dad?" asks Melanie.

"Oh, I can't talk to him all day, he's driving me nuts," she says.

"And, by the way, where's my money back from the paper? Five pound you've had off me this week and I've not seen a penny in change."
