The Brendan Rodgers effect revealed as Celtic skipper Scott Brown heaps praise on Arsenal target

Scott Brown has outlined the Brendan Rodgers effect that's ensuring the former Celtic boss is a man in-demand.

It's been less than a year since the Northern Irishman's infamous Parkhead departure but already there's speculation he could leave second-placed Leicester City for Arsenal .

The Gunners sacked Unai Emery last week and Rodgers has been widely tipped as his successor.

Rodgers won two consecutive Trebles with Celtic and was on-course to deliver a third before heading back to England in February, leaving Neil Lennon to finish the job.

Brown was Rodgers' go-to man during his Hoops stint and the midfielder provided an insight into how the 46-year-old has galvanised the Foxes in a relatively short space of time.

"He's a fantastic manager and I think everyone knows that," Brown told Sky Sports.

"He went so close with Liverpool and he's got Leicester up to second in the league.

"I don't think anyone would've thought that at the start of the season but they play some great football and it's entertaining to watch.

"That's what be brings to a club - that buzz and passion.

"Everybody just thrives off him. He's got a great aura, he believes in what he does and, at the end of the day, it's paying off on the football.

"But he's also got to make sure he's getting the lads working, get them as fit as he possibly can and that's what he does too."

Rodgers has been repeatedly quizzed over a potential move to the Emirates but appeared to dismiss the speculation earlier on Monday.

He said: "Why would I want to leave Leicester City at this time?

"I am very happy so would have no need to look elsewhere.

"I have a contract here until 2022. Thus far, I know managers are losing their jobs, the club have not indicated to me that they are going to sack me.

"I am working with a group of players who have so much potential. I gave an honest answer about how all managers have some sort of clause in their contracts and suddenly that seems to have thrown a door wide open.

"For me, I repeat, I am happy here. Very happy here. I feel I want to continue with that. Take from that what you want."
