The Borussia Dortmund firesale to interest Arsenal and Chelsea ahead of summer transfer window

Borussia Dortmund could be forced into a firesale of their best and most talented players in the summer.

Dortmund have not had the best of starts to the Bundesliga season, sitting sixth in the table after 20 games.

They have won half of those games, but crucially have lost eight too, drawing just two matches to leave themselves with 32 points, four points adrift of the Champions League places and 16 off the top of the table.

Missing out on Champions League football would be a disaster for a club that boasts the talent of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho among many others.

And it could force Dortmund into making plans for life without some of their superstars next season.

What should Chelsea do about Kepa?

According to reports, if the club fail to finish in the Champions League spots, they could cash in on some of their stars, with as many as eight players on the list to be sold.

Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland are among them, with WAZ reporting that Axel Witsel, Manuel Akanji, Mahmoud Dahoud, Giovanni Reyna, Jude Bellingham and Raphael Guerreiro could also be on the list to raise funds if the worst were to happen come the end of the campaign.

Sancho has been the subject of much transfer interest from England already, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United sniffing around last summer.

United are likely to go back in for him again, with Thomas Tuchel also a keen admirer.

Haaland is one of the hottest prospects in world football and Chelsea are once again credited with an interest.

Raphael Guerreiro was previously linked with the Blues too, although their need for a left-back is not as strong as it was now they splashed out £50million on Ben Chilwell.

Guerreiro could be of interest to Arsenal, however, with manager Mikel Arteta admitting in January that he was trying to sign a left-back to compete with Kieran Tierney.

Manuel Akanji has also been lonked with the Emirates Stadium in the past.
