The bookmakers' verdict on Eddie Nketiah's potential Leeds United transfer

It is the penultimate day of the summer transfer window and Leeds United still have work to do.

Kemar Roofe's move to Anderlecht was confirmed on Tuesday evening, meaning that replacing last season's leading goalscorer is now the top priority at Elland Road.

Ryan Kent is the primary target with Leeds in talks to sign the Liverpool winger, but an alternative target in Eddie Nketiah has emerged.

The 20-year-old Arsenal forward appears set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer on a temporary deal, as he looks to get some regular minutes under his belt, with Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Nketiah burst onto the scene in the 2017/18 season and has been in and around the first-team picture ever since.

His availability has not just alerted Leeds, but also Bristol City, who have tracked the youngster for some time, while there is also interest from the Bundesliga in the form of Fortuna Dusseldorf, while Bayern Munich have also been linked.

But according to the bookmakers, it is Lee Johnson's side who hold the advantage.

SkyBet have Bristol City as 2/5 favourites to land the England under-21 international, with Leeds behind at 2/1. The two German sides lag behind with Fortuna at 12/1 and Bayern a 25/1 chance.

The deadline closes at 5pm on Thursday.
