The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - review

Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

First of all, I have to say I fell in love with the narrator which I have never really done before. Having a narrator as Death was genius; giving an actual character and persona to him was brilliant since I have never ever seen anyone do this before.

The character of Liesel and Death reading her life almost as if being a guardian over her story and his sense of duty to share it, made me absolutely love it. Showing the passion of her words and how words are so strong - I loved this as well. The family life being shown with Rosa and Hans, it isn't the perfect family with roses and flowers, but it is a realistic family interacting and it just made me love all the characters even with all the good points and bad.

If you haven't read The Book Thief then you should since if you are looking for a powerful book which will emotionally tie you in then I suggest you do because this book will attach itself to your heart and never let go!
