The Book Thief is a very fascinating story, that shows what it's like for a young, lonely girl, to live in the times of the fanatical Germans. During the Second World War, Liesel Meminger was transferred to Munich, to live with a family willing to take care of her. Liesel had a soft spot for books, as she wanted to learn to read. But stealing was the only way. Her new family have a secret which is never to be told to anyone, but that's revealed further into the story.
The author, Markus Zusak, writes with huge imagination and a passion for writing. A wonderful page turner, I can't recommend it highly enough.
