The Bolivarian Militia: Meet the Venezuelans on a war footing

The political standoff in Venezuela continues between Nicolas Maduro's government and self-proclaimed president Juan Guiado. The regime still has control of state institutions, including the armed forces. But it also relies on a network of unlikely volunteers, prepared to defend it against any attacks. The Bolivarian Militia was created by former president Hugo Chavez and today is said to have 1.6 million members. Our reporters went to meet some of them in the Petare district of Caracas.

A report by Pascale Mariani, Herminia Fernandez, Juan Orozco, Kevin Jordan and Natasha Pizzey.

A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett and Wassim Cornet.
