The bold changes that would affect Leeds United as EFL attempt to complete remaining fixtures

The EFL are considering the possibility of using 'regional hubs' to complete the remaining fixtures.

A report from the Evening Standard claims EFL clubs, including Championship leaders Leeds United, have received a letter from the League which raises the possibility of introducing regional hubs as they attempt to find a way to complete the remaining 341 games.

The report claims the EFL prefer to complete fixtures as normal across the usual stadiums, but they are putting a contingency plan in place.

On Wednesday, the EFL are said to have sent a letter to all its clubs to ask for an 'operational plan' for staging games without fans.

They also mentioned introducing 'regional hubs' as a fail-safe, which would see a select number of venues in London, the South West, the Midlands, the North East and the North West approved to host fixtures.

Though, it's not clear what the make-up would be with each of the leagues having very different ratios of teams per region.

The report stresses the EFL have made no firm plans just yet, but they do want to make sure they have a plan to return to action once the government provides the green light, and that includes putting in place a contingency plan should it prove too difficult for all stadiums to be used.

Though, it's said the plan to use only 'approved' grounds will likely be met with disapproval, as it was by Premier League clubs when the idea was floated to members of the top-flight.
