The Body Shop gives away over 250,000 essential items to frontline workers

The Body Shop has announced it is gifting over 255,000 products to frontline NHS workers working to treat patientsof the coronavirus pandemic.

A variety of skin and body care products will be distributed to Critical Care, A&E and Intensive Care Unit staff forced to shower on site in between long shifts including staff at:

  • Great Ormond Street Hospital
  • The Royal Marsden Hospital
  • Guy’s Hospital
  • St Thomas’ Hospital
  • Lewisham Hospital
  • Greenwich Hospital
  • Kings College (5 sites) Hospital
  • Chichester Hospital
  • Worthing Hospital
  • Brighton Children’s Hospital
  • Manchester Children’s Hospital
  • South East Coast Ambulance Service

Additionally, 100,000 bars of soap and 100,000 tubes of Hand Creams will be delivered to the newly created temporary hospitals across the nation starting with deliveries to NHS Nightingale at London’s ExCel centre in the next few days.

Linda Campbell, managing director of The Body Shop UK, said: “This is our way of thanking the NHS workers on the frontline, risking their lives to save ours to help protect the communities we live in.

"Critical care teams have been working long shifts, with very little downtime, pretty much living on site. We hope that by donating self-care treats to hospitals across the country, we can bring a few moments of respite .”
