The Body Pods Podcast: The Hands by Gemma Brockis and Tilly Tansey

The Hands is the third in a series of podcasts, each one made by an artist in collaboration with a scientist and exploring a different part of your body.

The Hands is made by Gemma Brockis, an artist based in London, and co-founder of the arts collective Shunt; and Tilli Tansey, professor of the history of modern medical sciences at Queen Mary University of London.

The podcast includes extracts from Charles Bells' 1833 book, The Hand, its Mechanism and Vital Endowments as Evincing Design, and should be listened to with headphones.

Body Pods is co-produced by Fuel and Roundhouse, which brought you the Everyday Moments series of podcasts, available as the Guardian Culture Podcast last year, and the UCL Ear Institute.
