The body of missing West Lothian man Alan Kerr has been found in Edinburgh.

Police say that the discovery was made shortly after 5pm yesterday evening (30 July) in the Almond Valley Viaduct area, near Newbridge on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The 62-year-old was reported missing on Monday (29 July) after leaving his home in the Broxburn area.

Police issued public appeals in a bid to trace him and it was thought he may have travelled to the Corstorphine area.  

Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
