The Boars Head lifts the sup in Paddy Power’s World Cup of Dublin Pubs

The Boars Head has come out on top in the World Cup of Dublin Pubs, pulling ahead of fine city boozers including Toner’s and Mulligan’s.

Thousands of thirsty punters – including some well-known celebs - engaged with the online vote which took place on Twitter yesterday.

Open winning golfer Shane Lowry, who famously celebrated his triumph at Portrush at the well-known establishment, master mimic Conor Moore, former Kerry GAA star Aidan O’Mahony and RTE sports correspondent Marty Morrissey all got involved.

The four pubs voted into the finals included Kehoes, Grogan’s and Mulligan’s on Poolbeg Street.

But after a total of almost 5,000 fans had their say, it was The Boar’s Head who secured 34.3% of the votes.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “With all pubs shut, punters are dreaming about when they’ll get a chance to sup on their next cold one and the reaction to this poll was massive.

“The Boar’s Head proved to have more pulling power than most though and won our World Cup of Dublin Pubs by several percentage pints. Eh, I mean points.”
