The Blue Jays will be able to play in Toronto again and Canadians everywhere are celebrating

It’s been 22 months since the Toronto Blue Jays last played a baseball game in Canada. On July 30, however, Toronto fans will finally get their team back home, as Canadian health officials have signed off on the team’s border restriction exemption, allowing the Blue Jays to play in Rogers Centre once again.

The Blue Jays last played at the Rogers Centre on September 29, 2019 to end the 2019 MLB season. After COVID-19 shut everything down in March 2020, the Blue Jays played all of their home games during their shortened season in Buffalo. For the 2021 season so far, the Blue Jays have seen Florida and Buffalo again as their home stadiums.

Now, however, the team can head back north to Toronto to welcome fans into the building for the first time in over 650 days. The Blue Jays celebrated the announcement with an emotional video tribute marking the occasion.

Canadian baseball fans were, of course, overjoyed at the news that their baseball team will finally be able to play in Toronto after so long.
