The new season of The Block has only been airing for a month but the supposed winners have already been leaked… at least according to an anonymous source.
ICYMI, this year’s batch of hammer-wielders and pillow-fluffers are renovating four houses in Daylesford, Victoria as season 21 of The Block currently plays out on screens.
While we’re still some way off from the no-doubt eye-watering auctions, an insider has claimed there’s whispers among contestants that producers have already picked this year’s winning couple.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source said it has become “obvious” that those involved in the show are giving House One — namely childhood sweethearts Emma and Ben — special treatment in the lead up to the finale.

“It is really small things but when you talk to previous Block contestants they have pointed out similar trajectories,” the source claimed.
“It gets more and more obvious as the auction draws closer, we are told.”
Apparently, Emma and Ben being primed for the crown has come at the expense of their fellow contestants, who are said to be less than impressed with the couple’s special treatment.
“Not everyone is happy about it,” the source said of remaining couples Robbie and Matt, Han and Can, and fan faves Sonny and Alicia.
“Other teams have bled for this show while House One cruised. Now it looks like they’re being rewarded.”

As for why Emma and Ben are the supposed chosen ones, the insider claimed the Melbourne duo “tick the boxes” of what producers want for the show’s family-friendly rebrand, since they aren’t exactly this year’s drama-makers.
“Let’s face it, they sounded fun on paper but during the 12-week shoot nothing much happened,” the insider said, before comparing Emma and Ben to the other contestants who have “given drama, humour and heart”.
The whispers were apparently loud enough to reach Channel 9, which flat-out denied that The Block has already selected this year’s winners.
“’All Block auctions are conducted by licensed real estate agents who are required to comply with all relevant laws and are conducted under the public auction rules, while in the presence of Consumer Affairs,” a spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

We won’t know for sure who wins until the finale airs later this year, but the rumours add to an already drama-filled season that has come to include off-screen rivalries, MAFS cameos, and whispers of a forthcoming celebrity edition season.
Needless to say, I’m sat for all of it, with a hammer in one hand and an unfluffed pillow in the other.
