They were once pitched as the wholesome, loveable couple of The Block but Alicia and Sonny are about to blow up their nice-guy reputation with one of the most controversial decisions of the 2025 season.
According to insiders, the pair were handed a golden opportunity to help their neighbours but flat-out refused, leaving the rest of the Blockheads absolutely fuming.
“It was a huge turning point,” one production source spilled. “They’ve helped out so many times before without much thanks and this time they decided enough was enough. They weren’t going to sacrifice their own shot at glory again.”
The drama stings even harder given the couple’s track record, five CommBank challenge wins but still zero weekly room victories. Producers are said to be bracing for a serious viewer backlash when the episode airs.
“The edit will make it look like they’ve thrown everyone under the bus,” another insider explained. “It’s going to come across as selfish and it won’t sit well with audiences.”
One rival Blockhead didn’t hold back either:
“It was an opportunity for everybody to do the right thing by everybody. We all thought we’d stick together but Alicia and Sonny clearly had their own agenda.”
With auction day looming, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Sources say Alicia and Sonny are ready to risk friendships and their golden-couple status in a desperate bid to finally secure a room win.
“No matter what they do, good or bad, Alicia and Sonny always seem to end up in the thick of the drama,” another insider laughed. “It’s ironic, because Alicia has been so determined to avoid scandals… but the drama just keeps finding them.”
For fans, it’s shaping up to be one of the most chaotic The Block episodes yet and for Alicia and Sonny, the fallout could last way longer than a busted friendship group chat.
It comes after the pair found themselves smack bang in the middle of a cheating scandal in last week’s episodes.
It all started when Brit dropped a bombshell accusation that the Queensland couple had basically “cheated the system”, with whispers they funnelled budget money back into their rooms after the fact.
Insiders reckon the fallout behind the scenes was brutal. “For a lot of the other teams, that crossed the line completely,” one production source told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
