The Block’s Scott Cam Addresses Rumours Adrian Portelli Was Banned From Auction Day

The Block bigwig Scott Cam has hushed any rumours claiming that billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli had been banned from attending the show’s auction.

Earlier this week, an insider claimed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that the Lambo Guy had been effectively banned from the Daylesford 2025 finale following months of a heated feud with The Block producers.

“There are always clues when Adrian’s planning to turn up, and none of those signs are there this year,” the insider dished.

“He’s been made to feel very unwelcome.”

Appearing on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick on Thursday, The Block host addressed the spicy rumours head-on, stating that Portelli wasn’t banned and that the finale is a “public auction” and that “anyone can turn up”.

“We didn’t ban him; that’s something he said,” Cam shared.

“It’s a public auction, anyone can turn up, we just kindly said, ‘What do you reckon… You had a good run on the auctions, why don’t we leave it to some families to try and buy the houses.’ It doesn’t mean Danny Wallis won’t turn up either, so that’s alright.”

Cam went on to mention Portelli’s new rival home renovations show on Channel Seven, suggesting that “he wouldn’t be coming to [The Block] auction if he’s doing something over there”.

“If he wants to turn up, he can.”

Rumours of a ban against Portelli first surfaced in July, when Cam admitted he asked the high baller not to show up for the 2025 finale in an interview with Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Richie.

“To be honest, we said to Adrian, ‘We’d love you not to come next year, if that’s all right.’ But you know it’s up to him, it’s a public auction and he can do whatever he wants,” The Block said in the July interview.

“He said he won’t come, but he may come. We don’t know, but we do want to give mums and dads the opportunity to have a crack at a Block house.”

In response to Cam’s tea spill, Portelli took to his Instagram stories, claiming The Block bigwig was “talking porkies”.

“Scotty, you’re talking porkies,” Portelli penned.

“I told you guys I was leaving. There was never a conversation of being to sit out of this season.”

In a second round of Instagram Stories, Portelli referred to a snippet of Cam’s radio interview, specifically the part where he said, “Aussie families have a chance to buy these homes”.

“Hyped up, overvalued, multi-million dollar homes. Just what the average Australian family can afford,” Portelli penned.

Shortly after the heated clap back, Portelli announced his new rival show with Channel Seven titled My Reno Rules, which is slated to premiere in 2026 with Dr Chris Brown taking on the hosting reins.

Portelli has yet to respond to Cam’s latest tea spill, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we copped a few IG Stories in the next couple of hours… or maybe not with his shiny new gig at Seven.
