The blind Location, Location, Location buyer who used her guide dog to find her perfect home

Making a decision and buying a home can be tough for anyone so Lynne, who is blind, enlisted the help of Phil Spencer and Kirsty Allsop to find her dream Bangor home in Northern Ireland. Appearing on Channel 4's Location, Location, Location, Lynne and her guide dog Lucy made the decisions about the houses together.

Lynne, who is a web developer, wanted to upgrade from her current home in Bangor to one that has a conservatory and an extra bedroom in 2016, in the latest episode, airing on Wednesday, May 31, the show revisits Lynne to find out how she got on once the camera left.

In the original episode we found out Lynne adopted Lucy from a rescue centre in London, the pair were inseparable with the guide dog playing a big part in approving Phil and Kirsty's choices.

A lot of Lynne's judgment was based on Lucy's reactions to the houses and Phil describing what each house looked like, the first time he had ever helped a blind house hunter. Ultimately, in 2016, Lynne chose the house that Lucy preferred, despite it being £20,000 more than one of the other houses she was considering, which Lucy didn't like.

Lucy demonstrated her dislike for the house by appearing "sorrowful" and then tried to lead Lynne straight out of the front door. Lynne said: "Lucy sort of made my mind up because she was still unsure about the second one. Both of us loved the third one."

Lynne is very happy in her new home (Channel 4)

Sadly Lynne was unable to buy the house she found on Location, Location, Location as she was unable to sell her own house quickly enough. After moving to Yorkshire for two years Lynne and Lucy returned to Bangor and successfully brought a house for £170,000 in 2020, which was Lucy-approved.

Lynne said in the catch-up episode: "The first time Lucy came into the house, she ran in the side door, came into the back room, started rolling around on the floor, she absolutely loved it!" The new home has two reception rooms and an office, meaning that Lynne can work from home and has found her forever home.

She described Bangor as her "happy place". Lynne said: "I love being by the sea, I love being able to walk to all of the shops that I need to get to and this is perfect, what else could anybody want? This is really my happy place."

Location, Location, Location airs at 8pm on Channel 4 on Wednesday, May 31 and you can also watch the episode on All4.
