The bizarre way Andy Powell and Brecon will celebrate their National Plate triumph

Former Wales international Andy Powell has revealed the bizarre way Brecon will celebrate their National Plate triumph over Bonymaen.

A hat-trick from full-back Jake Crockett helped Brecon secure a 23-21 victory at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

And afterwards Powell revealed the novel way in which the club will toast their cup success.

"We've got a tractor and trailer going through Brecon tomorrow," said Powell.

"We'll have all the boys on the trailer so get ready for some photos!

"We'll thoroughly enjoy the night, trust me on that!"

Having a tractor and trailer taxiing the victorious players around the pubs of the town probably isn't how many people would have imagined their celebrations going - but that's the type of character Powell is.

The former No. 8 has been involved with a Grand Slam, Lions tour, European trophy win and a win over the All Blacks with the Barbarians.

But he described coaching his home town to victory in the home of Welsh rugby as being right up there as one of the highlights of his career.

"It's a special moment and it's right up there in my career highlights," he said.

"I didn't know who to hug. I was hugging a few Bonymaen boys at the end!"
