The bizarre Chelsea kit launch featuring Wales star Ethan Ampadu that has got people talking

New kits often divide opinion among football fans.

And Chelsea's latest home strip is no different.

But is was the actual launch of their 2019/20 home kit that has got people talking.

The blue strip has seemingly split supporters, with some loving it while others have reacted in a way only certain social media users in 2019 could.

In the launch images, - which featured star man Eden Hazard as well as Wales international Ethan Ampadu - Chelsea players were seen posing in the new kit, with fans doing the same.

The players - particularly Ampadu - wore some rather eye-catching garments in addition to the new official club clobber in the promotion of their latest strip.

And fans were quick to have their say on social media.

As for the kit itself, Chelsea state it is designed to honour their home stadium Stamford Bridge.

A statement on the Blues' official website reads: "Chelsea Football Club and Nike today unveil our new 2019/20 home kit, inspired by one thing: Stamford Bridge.

"The Blues have called the Bridge home since 1905, and just as it is woven into our history, it is woven into the fabric of our brand new kit.

"The concept comes to life through a classic Chelsea blue shirt, comprising imagery taken from our famous home."
