Billy Gilmour was a substitute vs Manchester City on Thursday, but he still managed to impress Frank Lampard.
The Blues wonderkid was in fine form prior to the Premier League season being placed on hold as he starred in back-to-back games against Liverpool as well as Everton.
However, since the restart the teenager has lost his place in the starting line-up, as Lampard has opted to recall the more experienced N'Golo Kante.
But it might not be too long before Gilmour is back in the side.
Introduced to proceedings at Stamford Bridge in the first minute of injury time, the youngster still had time to create a chance for Pedro with a brilliant switch of play.
The choice of pass certainly excited Lampard as The Athletic reporter @liam_twomey noted that the Blues head coach immediately shouted 'Yes!'
Speaking after the game, Lampard spoke of the importance of the result as they seek to close the gap on City and Liverpool next season.
"They are two of if not the best teams in the world," Lampard said. "They are there for a reason. I think we have to just look at ourselves and work.
"One result against City and a good performance tonight is a great feeling for us tonight but the reason we don't amass enough points is because of the consistency of those two.
"There is a clear gap and it won't happen overnight with one or two signings.
"There's a lot of work that needs to be done.
"Liverpool and City have been works in progress for a few years now and they are getting a lot of success, a bit of success now.
"I'm not getting carried away. We can get better. We can be better on the ball. We can have more possession.
"It's one of the only games in which we didn't have the lion's share of possession but we have to accept that tonight and be happy with the result."
