The bilby is Australia's very own Easter bunny, but how much do you actually know about it?

Bilbies are way cuter than bunnies anyway. I mean look at that face.

Forget Easter bunnies, in Australia we're all about the Easter bilby*.

The bilby is a small native marsupial with huge ears and a pointy snout that makes it look like a cross between a bandicoot and a hare, but with extra fluffiness.

Rabbits on the other hand can, admittedly, also be fluffy and cute, but are far less so when they wreak havoc on the Australian landscape.

The introduced species destroys crops and damages the environment — all amplified by its impressive reproductive abilities.

So, for some time now, many Australians have instead turned to a burrowing creature closer to home at Easter time — whether to support bilby conservation or just for something with a point of difference.

But how much do you really know about bilbies?

You better take the quiz to find out...

*We have been assured that the Easter bilby is also an essential worker and will be distributing eggs this Easter.
