Tammy Abraham has been backed to play a key role in Frank Lampard's tenure at Chelsea.
Lampard was confirmed as the Blues' new head coach on Thursday and will be expected to utilise the club's burgeoning academy with a transfer ban prohibiting the registering of players to the Stamford Bridge side this summer.
Abraham, along with Mason Mount and Reece James, starred on loan in the Championship last season, the former firing Aston Villa to the Premier League via the play-offs beating Lampard's old side Derby County in May's showpiece final at Wembley.
Lampard will have had a close-up look at the prolific marksman, who has bagged 48 goals across two Championship loan spells with Bristol City and Villa.
Abraham also spent time on loan at Swansea City in 2017-18, only for them to suffer relegation from the top flight with the 21-year-old struggling in the Swans' doomed side.
But Holloway, who has been left frustrated by Abraham's lack of usage in the recent under-21s European Championships, is tipping Abraham to play a starring role in Lampard's revolution in West London.
“I’m so excited because I can see Tammy Abraham playing for Chelsea,” he told talkSPORT. “I was fuming the other day when he was subbed for the England Under-21s.
“OK, when he went to Swansea it didn’t work for him because it was his first season in the Premier League, but he’s ready now.
“The boy is an immense talent. He was the second-highest goalscorer in the Championship last season and he’s the record goalscorer in their youth set-up.
“So I’m delighted. I think he’s ready for it and it’s got to happen now. Mason Mount will love the fact Frank trusts him as well."
