The biggest online order fails from Pretty Little Thing and more

There are many perks to online shopping; its convenient, delivery is usually quick and you can easily keep track of how much you're spending.

However, one of the main downsides is not being able to try on items, or see the material up close before you buy.

And this has led to some awkward moments with shoppers receiving items that look completely different in real life, to how they look online.

This year alone, we've seen one women struggling to fit a Pretty Little Thing dress over her leg and another discovering the dress she ordered was completely see through.

Here's a round-up of the biggest online order fails:

When the size 8 dress didn't fit as planned...

Back in March one Pretty Little Thing customer took to Twitter to share her confusion after her size eight dress arrived much smaller than she was expecting.

Sharing two contrasting images of the dress as it looks online and then next to her leg, user @_JuliaMagowan said: "Plt how do you expect me to fit my body into this supposed size 8 dress??

"Can just about fit my left leg in it, what a joke."

The dress is the retailer's £18 Black Mesh Ruched Dress which is, admittedly, suppose to be a snug fit. However according to the customer it was so snug it didn't fit past her legs.

In a follow up tweet she shared another image of the dress on her leg and said: "Update: fits nicely around my leg."

When the dress showed off a little more than expected ...

Girl has hilarious reaction after receiving dress she ordered online

In April, an online shopper shared her hilarious' video reaction after receiving a dress which looked nothing like the one she ordered.

The 18-year-old student, Jodie Howard, posted a video hysterically laughing when she opened her package and found the dress inside.

She claimed the dress was delivered in a tiny package and 'was a bit difficult to get on'.

Jodie said: "I shop online occasionally, this is the first time I've ever received something that was completely different to the photo online.

"It came up as an ad on Instagram and I clicked on to the page and went from there."

When Carys Lauders ordered a shirt dress from online retailer Pretty Little Thing she wasn't expecting the sizing to be so wrong.

Taking to Twitter she shared her disappointment by revealing what arrived made her "look like a Christmas ornament".

When ASOS left something in view...

While this doesn't involve an order delivery, it does involve a huge online fail for retailer ASOS.

Last month on Twitter, user @xronnieanna, said: "Uhmm @ASOS ..think you forgot to edit those clips out".

The tweet was shared with images of a model wear a purple dress, with two large bulldog clips showing. The clips pin the model's outfit in, giving a false impression of how it would really look.

Shoppers were left confused by the discovery with many begging the retailer to share true images of what its clothing looks like on models, instead on edited versions.

@Maisy_millard said: "Wow, these sorts of things makes girls and even guys feel soo s***e like make the clothes actually fit a normal person and don't clip it so it's a different shape than what it's actually gonna turn up like!
