The biggest interiors trends of 2020

New Yin/Yang furniture range from designer MeliMeli available on Att Pynta

2020 is here and there's no better time to update your home than at the start of a new decade. Whether you just want to add a few subtle style updates or completely reinvent your look, we have pulled together the interiors trends that we think will be big this year.

Sustainable Designs

Awareness of environmental issues we are facing is now being seen in the interiors world. There has been a definite shift away from "fast" interiors towards more timeless pieces made of natural materials that will last a lifetime. Materials such as rattan, solid wood, bamboo, stone and linen in a neutral colour palette add a sense of calm and bring us back to nature.

Adding touches of muted tones and natural textures such as pampas grass and hand made ceramics are elegant takes on this trend.

Eccentric Country

Creating homes with a country feel to them is a trend that we have seen become more and more popular recently with a move towards a more 'lived in' look. We've coined this trend 'Eccentric country.' Creating a cosy home that is full of colour, prints (using printed fabrics on sofas or wallpaper) personal pieces and lots of artwork/paintings.

A colour palette of yellow, pale pink and green tones seems to be the most popular combinations. Inspired by the arts and crafts era and colourful parasols on Italian beaches, interior decorator and artist Luke Edward Hall, embraces this trend perfectly.

Surprisingly simple to incorporate into your home, this hue is sure to add a stately touch to both traditional and modern home styles.
